LEONOR FINI
ILLUSTRATIONS OF SCHIAPARELLI MODELS
1940
The artist Léonor Fini, who designed the bottle for Schiaparelli's Shocking perfume, also illustrated several designs by the great couturier.
The two silhouettes presented here are from the Summer 1940 Haute Couture collection. The first is a sheath dress in black silk crepe, accompanied by a blue bolero embroidered with jet. The "mermaid" dress shape was invented by Schiaparelli.
The second model is a two-tone long dress in aqua silk faille and ruby silk jersey.
