Elsa Schiaparelli transposed a drawing by Jean Cocteau onto a model from her Autumn 1937 collection.

Embroidered on the gray linen jacket of a dinner suit is the profile of a woman's face. Her abundant blond hair cascades down the right sleeve. A trompe-l'œil left hand appears to hold a handkerchief. Jean Cocteau's signature is also embroidered on the jacket, as if he had signed a painting, thus elevating the garment to the status of a work of art. This embroidery was executed by Maison Lesage.
