In 1935, the British painter Derek Hill created fan-shaped masks in painted plaster for Schiaparelli, with trompe-l'œil eyelashes in real plaster.

They were worn by the models who walked the runway during the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Winter 1935-36 presentation.
