In this colourful painting dated 1935, Raoul Duffy captured the luxurious atmosphere and the excitement of the Haute Couture presentations in the Schiaparelli showrooms.

That year, Elsa Schiaparelli opened her Haute Couture House in the Hôtel de Fontpertuis, at the legendary address of 21, Place Vendôme. Since this day, Schiaparelli has remained the sole French Couture House in the Place Vendôme.
