A highly technical textile, object of constant design research for lacemakers, lace has never been so diverse. With its endlesss colors, textures, experimentations and embroideries, it is sheer or opaque, with floral or abstract motifs, light or 3D… up to the point of becoming stunningly unrecognizable.
Through more than sixty pieces from the latest Haute Couture shows, the « Haute Dentelle » (Designer Lace) exhibition is a tribute to this unique material, as familiar as it is unknown to many.
Among this selection of exceptional looks, several Schiaparelli Haute Couture silhouettes created by design director Bertrand Guyon are to be (re)discovered, such as this dress and short tunic in golden and black Chantilly lace embroidered with a lobster, one the House’s symbols.
