From 9 September 2016 to 31 March 2017, the Espace Dalí is hosting the contemporary illustrator Joann Sfar, famous for his comic book series “The Rabbi’s Cat” and his film “Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life”. He offers us an illustrated journey through what he imagines Dalí’s brain to be like.
The exhibition is an invitation on the “motionless journey” of a painter and his models, blending dream and reality as Joann Sfar’s illustrated narrative unfolds. Over 200 original drawings are waiting to be discovered in a setting beautifully enhanced by Dalí’s surrealist objects and sculptures and the Schiaparelli Haute Couture designs that inspired the artist.
Among the Schiaparelli pieces on display, there is a chance to rediscover the “Cette nuit-là” and “La vie secrète des visages” dresses from the Autumn/Winter 2015-16 Haute Couture collection by Bertrand Guyon.
