When Picasso painted the portrait of the wife of the poet Paul Eluard during the summer of 1937, Nusch Eluard was wearing Schiaparelli.

The jewelry and hat are from the Haute Couture Winter 1937-38 collection. The cherub-shaped lapel pins in gilt metal were designed by Jean Schlumberger for Schiaparelli.
